About the School
The School of Agricultural Science and Natural Resources prepares aspiring entrepreneurs, agricultural professionals, and community leaders to transform food systems for a changing world. The curriculum integrates scientific and indigenous knowledge systems with sustainability principles and innovative technology, addressing global challenges in food security, environmental stewardship, and resilient agriculture. Students earn practical income and experience alongside their studies, building sustainable food ventures while they learn.
At the graduate level, the MSc in Food Systems and Sustainable Agriculture combines agricultural science, business strategy, and entrepreneurship to prepare students to launch ventures or innovate within existing food systems. At the undergraduate level, the BS in Agribusiness — offered jointly with the School of Business — integrates agricultural science with business strategy to prepare graduates for leadership in food systems, agricultural enterprises, and rural development.
School at Glance
- BS in Agribusiness: 120 credits minimum.
- MSc in Food Systems and Sustainable Agriculture: 30 credits minimum.
- Coursework covers climate-smart agriculture, sustainable horticulture, animal and crop production, and food product innovation.
- Up to nine transfer credits accepted toward a master's degree from prior university coursework.
- Designed for students to earn while they learn — building income-generating ventures during their studies.
